A Little Bit Cold!

Monday, April 6, 2009

What a day this turned out to be! We had about any kind of weather you could envision...but not the sort that one would ask for if working outside. The morning broke with bitter cold winds as the men headed out at 7 AM to the job site. Shortly thereafter it took turns raining, sleeting, even dropping a little snow from the skies.

However, like the old US Post Office motto, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat of day nor gloom of night shall stay these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" the volunteers continued to work under these grueling conditions, only breaking at noon for lunch and some warmth at the temporary church site.

Being ever the gentlemen that they are, the men removed their muddy, grimy, red-clayed covered boots before entering the church as Everett shows in the photo on the right.

By the end of the day, we women found that the most popular place in our realm was the laundry since shirts, jeans, and socks worn that day certainly couldn't be allowed in the "house" nor could they be worn the next day.

Hebrews 6:10

"...he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them."
